At my college we play Texas Hold’em to kill some time during lunch, we use chips owned by someone to act as money, but we’re told this is gambling and we’re not allowed to. Are we in the wrong?

I’m 16 and poker is my favorite sport. But it is hard to practice my poker playing Yahoo! Games. You don’t get a real reaction like you would in a real tournament. I play every chance I get with any available opponent (non-gambling games of course). I was just wondering if there were any non-gambling tournaments in the U.S.A. that would allow people under 21 to play?

i live in a very small ky town where gambling is not leagal.however we have 2 places where poker is played and everyone knows it. they even advertise. they have cameras for the parking lot and keep the doors locked and the windows covered. the cops know about this so i dont understand how it is allowed.

Is it legal to make job applicants sign a release to investigate their medical history? This sounds illegal. The Seminole Casino in South Florida is doing that to prospective employees.
I bartended in Vegas for 5 years, and although there were extensive background checks, I don’t remember ever having to let them know my medical history. It seems like an invasion of privacy. What does my medical history have to do with anything?

I’ve found lots of social consequences of having a casino, but not cultural ones. So what are the cultural consequences?
In Singapore, there’s buddhism, christianity, islam, hinduism, etc. All these religious beliefs have something against gambling, but what are their reasons against it?
Are there any other cultural consequences other than religious beliefs?
And what are the possible solutions?

12 years ago I was working there.
1 restaurant that was partially closed off for employee dining and breaks.
Holiday Inn owned the Hotel and wouldn’t comp casino guests.
Some of the rooms were moldy.
The 24 hour buffet had a horrible reputation and customers telling me about it were numerous.
I was happy to move on.
I was happy to see it implode.
Anyone else out there that saw the implosion and thought “Good Riddance”

If you are just using them in a presentation and not actually using them in the casino.
I have a presentation that I was planning on using them with, just as an example for marketing. I would just show them and roll them once and then never use them again. Is it really illegal even if it is just a demonstration?

We are planning on staying at the Old Woolstore Hotel, and hitting the casino while in Hobart. But many years ago while visiting the West Point Casino, it required jacket and tie to enter. Does anyone know if they have relaxed the requirement, or do I need to make another shopping trip for more clothes?
