They are addicts. Rational and irrational doesn’t come into this at all. Gambling is designed to be this way. That’s why it’s bad..

I don’t see the point of it personally..even as “harmless fun”..no fun for me giving money away and leaving without holding anything tangible in my hands in exchange for it.
