randy hansen understands HOW he plays and doesnt play EXact copy of notes maybe chord progression and sound but atleast he improves a bit IN the style of jimi hendrix
and that makes randy a good jimi hendrix cover artist

@Blackstone2229 Yeah I guess. I mean I’m right handed and never figured to try playing left handed or upside-down lefty. My point is that I don’t think Jimi picked up guitar with that style for any real reason other then he was lefty and had a righty guitar. I’m sure there is a minor difference, but I always feel like people who do that are just trying to imitate(not that thats all bad), but it kind of goes against the whole idea of Jams and improv.

@JimmyPage97 Besides looks, I think the upside-down guitar physically influences playing style, and thus the ‘feel’ of playing as well as how tone is produced. To sound like another player, one need to duplicate all of the dynamics, and much of those come down to physical positions, and the guitar shape affects how you get into them. Randy’s amaaaazingly good at Jimi’s dynamics. Complete respect.
